COLEMAN GETS CHANCE TO SHINE AGAINST ITALY

first_imgSEAMUS Coleman will play on the right of midfield against Italy in a friendly in Belgium tonight – and gets a chance to show just how good he is against the very best from Serie A.With half a dozen more senior players being allowed to skip the friendly in Liege, the Killybegs man has another chance to impress Irish manager Giovanni Trapattoni.Trapattoni has spoken in glowing terms about the Killybegs man in the past two weeks. And there is talk in the Irish camp that the Everton player may now be ahead of Liam Lawrence in future competitive games.Trapattoni was particularly happy about the way in which Coleman slotted easily into the side against Scotland last Sunday week. And whilst he didn’t play against Macedonia for tactical reasons, there is no doubt the Donegal man’s star is rising.Meanwhile former Blues striker Sharp feels Coleman got great experience from the Nations Cup. Sharp told evertonfc.com: “When you look at the season Seamus has had you have got to take your hat off to him and say he has done really well. He has probably played more games than David Moyes or even he envisaged at the start of the season.“He has got himself into the international set-up now and he will want to stay in there.“The Nations Cup was probably a good way for him to start with his country. It is a nice introduction to international football for him and he will want to do well for his country.”COLEMAN GETS CHANCE TO SHINE AGAINST ITALY was last modified: June 8th, 2011 by gregShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Killybegsseamus colemanlast_img
