first_imgThe Ireland women’s rugby team claimed only their second ever victory over England in a tight Six Nations clash and Donegal player Larissa Muldoon was the hero.Ireland rugby hero Larissa Muldoon after she touched down for Ireland’s all-important try.The Ballybofey woman crossed the English line in the 50th minute for Ireland’s only try.Irish captain Niamh Briggs’ last-gasp penalty was the match-winning score, completing a superb comeback for Tom Tierney’s side after going in at half-time 8-3 half-time behind. Larissa was joined by her Donegal team-mate Nora Stapelton in the starting line-up.England had the upper hand after Harriet Millar-Mills touched down for England.Powerful work by her pack had Muldoon in the right place at the right time as she took a quick tap and got past full-back Lauren Cattell to touch down ten minutes after the restart.Ireland battled hard but could not find a way through the English defence.
