Special needs children feted

first_imgSmiles were on the faces of scores of children attached to the Diamond Special Needs School when, on Saturday, the Richard Giddings Foundation held a special activity for the festive season under the theme, “When faced with hunger and hopelessness, children are the most vulnerable and least likely to survive without help”.The Richard Giddings Foundation Christmas party was held at the Diamond Special Needs School, and catered for some 100 children, treating them to goodies and engaging them in several fun activities.According to Lizanna Gordon, representative of the Richard Giddings Foundation, the initiative was intended to bring joy to the underprivileged, at- risk and orphaned children.She pointed out that the key aim of the foundation, which is spearheaded by a board of trustees and committee members, is to provide daily healthy meals and education by providing books and other necessities for the children.The Richard Giddings Foundation was formed in 2014 after 24-year-old Richard Giddings was involved in a vehicle accident when he attempted to avoid hitting two motorcyclists who were allegedly racing on December 26th of that year.last_img read more
